چکیده
This study focused on electron microscopy studies of microstructural defects formed in an additively manufactured (AM) AlSi10Mg alloy as a result post-deformation by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP), with the aim elucidating fundamental deformation mechanisms that govern plasticity both aluminium matrix and silicon phase. article process grain refinement, metastable phase transformations, such stacking faults or amorphous areas severely disrupt face-centred cubic (FCC) crystal lattice symmetry. The findings presented this imply twinning, transformation, amorphization are not mutually exclusive modes Si deformation. Both can occur at ECAP temperature 150 °C. At 100 °C, is dominant mode It was also discovered dislocation slip predominant Al while additionally were within matrix. present provide only understanding micro-mechanism SLMed but open new horizon for development next generation structural materials.

Re-strengthening in AA6063 Alloy During Equal Channel Angular Pressing
Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) is carried out using two different configurations for the exit channel of the ECAP die, i.e., relieved and choked, with angles of 0.2 °. It is found that using a die with relieved exit channel, the sample was extruded for 6 passes with no surface cracks and an average cell size of 727 nm and a fraction of high angle grain boundaries of 54 % were achieved. M...
متن کاملCharacteristics of Cavitation in a Superplastic Magnesium Az31 Alloy Processed by Equal- Channel Angular Pressing
Experiments were conducted on a magnesium AZ31 alloy to evaluate the role of cavitation in high temperature superplasticity. Samples were processed by equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) and then pulled to failure in tension at a temperature of 623K. Similar tests were also conducted on the as-received alloy. The results show the development of significant internal cavitation in this alloy wh...
متن کاملAchieving superplastic properties in a ZK10 magnesium alloy processed by equal-channel angular pressing
Equal-channel angular pressing provides an opportunity for refining the grain structure and introducing superplastic properties in magnesium alloys. This report describes the use of this processing technique with a ZK10 (Mg–1.0 wt.% Zn–0.26 wt.% Zr) alloy. The grain structure was successfully refined from ∼12.9 to ∼5.2 m after 4 passes and superplastic elongations were observed when testing at ...
متن کاملAchieving superplasticity in a Bi-Sn alloy processed by equal- channel angular pressing
Equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) was utilized to process a Bi‒42Sn eutectic alloy at room temperature using processing route A for 1, 2, 4, and 8 passes. Tensile testing was performed at room temperature under initial strain rates in the range of 1.0 × 10 -5 to 1.0 × 10 -2 s -1 . The results demonstrate that processing by ECAP improves the ductility in this material and the elongations to ...
